Musician
West Philadelphia Orchestra
West Philadelphia Orchestra is a brass band inspired by the ‘fanfares’ and ‘orkestras’ of Eastern Europe. The group began in 2006 as a weekly potluck/jam session in a West Philly backyard, and began growing quickly, evolving into a village band. Over time, WPO grew larger and louder, the parties became more ecstatic, and the sound absorbed and mashed up Balkan brass, klezmer, free jazz and the brotherly love of Philly. With cutting brass, searing woodwinds and some of the tightest beats around, West Philadelphia Orchestra invites audiences to lose themselves in the earthy, ecstatic trance of their sound.
WPO has toured the U.S., played music festivals, collaborated with musicians like RJD2, Dr. Dog, Johnny Showcase, Marth Graham Cracker, and Nizo Alimov and worked with theater and dance companies. They have released 2 studio albums, Tour de Filli (2016) and WPO (2008), numerous singles since 2019, plus the Cosmic Trilogy EP with Rumi Kitchen (2023) and Af Purim EP (2023).

Parking for this event is limited, but additional parking is conveniently located across the street at the Triangle Parking Lot, courtesy of Abington Friends School, on the corner of Meetinghouse and Jenkintown Rd.
