Cultivating the power of the arts –inspiring individuals and strengthening community.

Located on a historic 27-acre campus in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, just 10 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Abington Art Center presents exhibitions, programs and events designed to make the arts a part of your world. We believe art should be engaging, approachable and, above all else, fun. At AAC, you won’t just observe art. You’ll touch it, feel it, create it and be a part of it.

Explore making art yourself in one of our many workshops and classes, visit our galleries and sculpture park, or bring your family for one of our many events such as the Summer Concert Series or Coffee Break Conversations with exhibiting artists. You choose.

Appeal Letter

Hello Friends,

Just Imagine…how good you’ll feel knowing you’ve helped Abington Art Center flourish through the craziest of times! Please consider a generous gift on this Giving Tuesday.

Far from shutting down our operations due to COVID-19, the pandemic restrictions have kept us on our toes exploring new strategies for serving our community this year. We succeeded in implementing safe ways to offer classes, exhibitions and openings, artist talks and summer concerts, using new digital platforms, masks and safety procedures.

Our generous outdoor space allowed AAC to host numerous events, from weddings and mitzvahs, to band rehearsals, dance recitals and a rock concert. With venues having to cancel their indoor events, people turned to AAC’s beautiful property. We moved quickly to accommodate and save their important milestone dates and celebrations.

These innovative steps have allowed us to stay connected to you, our community, and generated much-needed revenue so we could keep our team in place and continue fulfilling our mission. Now with winter approaching and the pandemic placing restrictions on in-person, indoor events, we are once again challenged to respond with versatility and imagination.

AAC’s board and staff are taking this opportunity to reflect, strategize and envision what comes next. We are excited about creating a dynamic strategic plan for the next several years, starting in these COVID-19 times and moving beyond them with exciting new arts initiatives.

As we plan forward, we are reminded that Abington Art Center’s plans are only as sound as our ability to financially support them. Please take a look at AAC’s attached annual report for fiscal year 2019-20 to see how we have successfully built assets in normal times and made needed changes in bad.

Please consider giving generously to AAC this year, keeping in mind that donors to nonprofits like the Center will receive higher tax deductions for charitable gifts in 2020 due to CARES Act legislation.

Thank you so much for your devotion to the arts and your commitment to the Abington Art Center!

Sincerely,

Rosalie Guzofsky, Ph.D.
