Abington Art Center is a dynamic and inclusive organization cultivating the power of the arts to inspire individuals and strengthen community.
AAC builds on its legacy through arts education, cultural engagement, private events and exhibitions. At Abington Art Center's core is the pursuit of conversation to deepen the understanding of our shared human experience through the creative lens.
Located on a historic 27-acre campus in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, just 10 miles from Center City Philadelphia, Abington Art Center presents exhibitions, programs and events designed to make the arts a part of your world. We believe art should be engaging, approachable and, above all else, fun. At AAC, you won’t just observe art. You’ll touch it, feel it, create it and be a part of it.
Explore making art yourself in one of our many workshops and classes, visit our galleries and sculpture park, or bring your family for one of our many events such as the Summer Concert Series or Coffee Break Conversations with exhibiting artists. You choose.
A Letter from the Executive Director, Rosalie Guzofsky
Dear Friends,
When I walk through the doors of Abington Art Center each day, I am reminded why this place matters. I see children discovering the joy of color and clay, adults taking their first steps on their artistic journey or refining their craft, people enjoying a summer night of free music, celebrants marking life events, neighbors meeting for the first time at an exhibit and I am filled with gratitude.
Abington Art Center isn’t just a building, but it does draw inspiration from Lessing Rosenwald, whose home, Alverthorpe Manor, houses the Center. Mr. Rosenwald, a great collector of fine art prints and rare books, felt that “a work of art that is never seen is little better off than a work of art that has never been created.” I would go a little bit farther in underscoring the importance of sharing art. Abington Art Center, at its essence, is a place where the community can share- a gathering place for creativity, curiosity, and connection. It’s where ideas come to life, where we learn from each other, and where everyone is welcome to express themselves freely.
I believe art has the purpose to bring people together- to heal, inspire, and remind us of our shared humanity. That is why Abington Art Center is committed to keeping our programs accessible, inclusive, and rooted in the needs and voices of our community.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope you enjoy browsing through our new website and discovering all we have to offer. Your presence, whether you are an artist, student, or visitor, helps keep the spirit of creativity alive here every day.
With appreciation,

Rosalie Guzofsky, Ph.D.
