Volunteers & Interns

Volunteers are vital to Abington Art Center as we seek to serve a growing community. A variety of volunteer and internship positions are available and we would be thrilled to have your support.  Hours and days are flexible.

Student Camp Interns

Each year our Summer Art Camps are a success thanks to the hard work of teen volunteers from the community. Camp volunteers assist our instructors in the classroom by setting up materials, helping students complete projects, with clean-up and monitoring lunch, gaining valuable experience in arts and education working as a teacher’s assistant.

Abington Art Center is seeking bright, motivated high school students to assist art instructors in the classroom this summer. Candidates must show initiative, be dependable and work well with young children. This is a great learning experience, and it looks good on your college application as well!

Summer volunteer positions for grades 9-12 are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, please contact Rosalie Guzofsky at or 215-887-4882 ext. 111

Volunteer Opportunities

Summer Concert Series Volunteers

Our World Music Concert Series is set to be an exciting event this summer, but we couldn’t do it without the help of our community. We need people on concert nights (Thursdays in late-June and July) to help our concerts run smoothly. Volunteers help us by greeting at the entrances, passing out program books, and helping to set up and break down trash/recycling cans before and after the concert.

If interested, please contact Beth Lawing at

Gallery Volunteer
Help us keep those gallery doors open during our business hours Tuesday – Thursday and Saturday morning! We’re looking for dependable and friendly volunteers to sit by the galleries, greet people as they enter on the manor side, and keep watch over the gallery spaces.

Program Volunteer
Volunteer once a month or more for community programs such as Coffee Break. Training will be provided. Volunteers will work independently and should be friendly and dependable.

Special Events
Work with the Art Center staff to support special events such as our summer concert series and occasional fundraising events. Responsibilities might include greeting visitors, set-up and teardown, and working in the concession booth. Must be hard working, friendly and dependable. Teens and adults are welcome.
