Teresa Thompson was drawn to clay over 15 years ago. Since that time, she has developed her craft in various applications. As a ceramic artist, she primarily focuses on functional, wheel-thrown forms. Her aesthetic has evolved, often based on accessible firing resources, as she has worked in studios in Georgia, Missouri, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Teresa has experience teaching ceramics to people of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced students.
Aside from teaching, Teresa is also an art therapist and has used ceramics extensively in her therapy practice. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Master’s in Art Therapy. She currently manages the creative arts therapy program at Settlement Music School.
