Encaustic painting is one of the first forms of oil painting using beeswax and pigment, originating back to 800 BC. Join Leah for this exciting workshop to explore the possibilities of combining imagery with encaustic. Beeswax provides texture and a surface to a photograph, drawing or print. This layering effect inspires imaginative and surrealist ideas to come alive. Combine encaustic with collage techniques, painting and drawing in a day of demonstrations and art making.
All supplies are included for a $40 fee, payable to the instructor. Each artist will be given 3 fine art prints on beautiful Hannemuhle paper and a substrate you could choose to paint on with your personal digital files. This workshop is perfect for painters and photographers who want to manipulate and explore self expression in their creative process.REGISTER
