Abington Art Center is a community center focused on music, drawing, painting, oil, ceramics, metals, sewing, embroidery, pottery, and jewelry classes. It is an outdoor free concert venue, with theater, dance, jazz, and live music on stage. You can buy gifts, crafts, bracelets, necklaces, and rings at the unique holiday fair.

Registration Deadlines

Registration closes when a class fills or the day before the class begins.

Age Restrictions – 16+

Students who are age 16 and older are eligible to register for adult classes. Ages 15 and younger must register for a  YOUTH CLASS.

Learn the basics of drawing from observation. Focus on how to represent objects on paper using form, perspective and composition. Knowing the fundamentals of drawing informs the entire art-making process.

Drawing Studio, Evening | Seth McKeever

4 Week Workshop – November 2, 9, 16, 30

Learn the fundamentals of painting in soft pastel and discover essential techniques while practicing painting from your photo reference and from life. Learn about different surfaces such as Vellum, toned papers, brands of soft pastel, painters that use soft pastel, and how to apply soft pastel.

Faces and Figures | Elena Cipolla

This course, open to all ability levels, focuses primarily on various approaches and techniques to rendering the human face and figure. The artist will learn how to properly place features, using negative space, values, color and texture.

The human figures is a drawing and painting challenge. Using relative proportions, general figure guidelines as well as observation techniques will lead to rending the figure accurately. The artists will be inspired by Master Artists as well as their own personal photographs or favorite sports figures.

Click Login and create an account for yourself. If you are registering a child or someone else, click Add to Order, fill out the form with your registrants’s information under “Add New Registrant,” and click “Create Registrant.” Select the person you wish to register before checking out or adding additional classes.

Please Note: The Registration Portal shows all classes available currently at AAC, including Adult classes. If you do not see a description for a class on this webpage, it is most likely an  ADULT CLASS or a SUMMER CAMP.
