SCVNGR Hunt in the Sculpture Park
The 2010 Scavenger Hunt will launch on June 5 with the season opening of the Sculpture Park and the three new sculpture installations!
Solving riddles, searching for clues and texting answers you find by opening your eyes to the Sculpture Park. These are the basic elements of a new Sculpture Park adventure launched by Abington Art Center in 2009. Anyone can try their hand at the self-guided texting scavenger hunt.
Using technology developed by SCVNGR, a Boston start-up, Abington Art Center staff and volunteers developed an interactive location-based mobile game. Players simply text a keyword to the number provided and their first clue arrives on their mobile phone within moments. Players can ask for hints, refer to the Sculpture Park map, work in teams or go it solo. The most important part of the adventure is the sculptures which hold the answers.

The only cost to play is the texting rate of your cell phone plan.
To begin the tour simply text the keyword SCULPTUREPARK to 728647 and wait for the first clue.
