A Weekend Celebrating the Artistry of Floral Design

Where cala lillies meet contemporary art. Inspired Flora hosts a selection of the region’s most imaginative floral designers creating arrangements inspired by the artworks in Abington Art Center’s 70th anniversary exhibition “Forever Young.”
The entire weekend of April 17-19, 2009 will be devoted to showcasing Inspired Flora, an event that supports Abington Art Center’s cultural and arts education programs for the community.
Behind-the-Scenes Preview Morning

Gala Dinner & Dancing
• April 18 • 7-11pm • $250 per couple; $150 per person; $125 for AAC members
Join us for an elegant evening of artistic floral designs, fun cocktails, and mouth-watering dishes from Jeffrey Miller Catering, followed by music and dancing with Cosmopolitan Jazz. A special installation of monumental images of flower by photographer Andrea Baldeck will set the stage. Black Tie optional. EUREKA! Family Workshops

Each month Abington Art Center presents fun workshops for families of any size, shape and artistic ability. This month is no exception. We’ll make twisted wire sculptures with flower embellishments and natural materials. Sponsored by Kremp Florist and the Rotary Club of Jenkintown.
Curator Tour

Take a tour of the galleries and talk with AAC’s curator about the art in our current exhibition and how the paintings, prints and sculpture are interpreted by the floral designers.
