I’m Matthew, a high school junior and a member of the National Honor Society, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Touring Ensemble, and Indoor Percussion Group. I am a member of two bands outside of school that play for local events throughout the year. I love music and my favorite academic subject is math. My passion for music started when I first sat at my father’s drum set when I was four years old. That same year I received my first drum set and since then I haven’t missed a beat! Music is an art that enables me to express my thoughts and emotions in a variety of ways. I love having the ability to communicate and connect with people thru music because it creates conversation and unity between us. Besides having a demanding academic schedule, my school music schedule is equally demanding between rehearsals and competitions. When I’m not studying, rehearsing, performing for school or playing with my bands, I am most likely listening to music, relaxing with friends or riding my bike. My goal is to attend college and major in music to pursue a career in ARTS, as a music education teacher.
